My work is rooted in the belief that beauty creates care. Through watercolor, ink, and encaustic painting, I create vibrant, detailed artworks that invite attention, wonder, and connection to the living world.

Each commission is a collaboration guided by your story and interpreted through my artistic vision. If my work speaks to you, I'd be honored to create something unique for your collection.

What makes a great commission?

The most successful commissions begin with a shared feeling rather than a rigid image.

Rather than recreating a photograph exactly, I encourage clients to think about:

• What do you want the piece to celebrate?

• What memories, values, or connections do you want it to hold?

• What story do you want it to tell?

The more room there is for artistic interpretation, the more meaningful and dynamic the final painting becomes.

The Process

Step 1: Start the Conversation

Complete the inquiry form below and tell me about your idea, inspiration, and hopes for the artwork. Within one week, I'll review your request and provide an estimated investment, timeline, and next steps.

Step 2: Reserve Your Commission

A non-refundable 50% deposit reserves your place on my commission calendar. Because each painting receives extensive planning and dedicated studio time, most commissions take approximately 1 to 3 months to complete. Should you decide not to proceed with the commission, your deposit may be applied as credit toward available artwork or products.

Step 3: Creative Consultation

Once your deposit is received, we will schedule a private Zoom conversation.

This is where we explore:

• Your inspiration

• Reference materials

• Color preferences

• Size and format

• The overall feeling and story of the piece

Together we'll establish a direction while leaving room for creative discovery.

Step 4: Concept Development

Following our consultation, I'll create several preliminary composition studies and color explorations.

You'll receive:

• 3-4 thumbnail concepts

• Color palette options

• Initial compositional ideas

Your feedback helps refine the vision before detailed work begins.

Step 5: Drawing & Approval

Once a concept is selected, I'll create a detailed preliminary drawing. After your approval, the painting process begins.

Step 6: Painting

Throughout the process, I'll share studio updates, photographs, and occasional videos documenting the artwork as it comes to life. Watching a painting evolve is one of the most rewarding parts of the commission experience.

Step 7: Completion & Delivery

When the painting is finished, you'll receive final images for review along with the remaining balance invoice and shipping details. After payment is received, your artwork will be carefully packaged and shipped with tracking, insurance, and signature confirmation.

A Note About Collaboration

Every commissioned piece is a true collaboration. You bring the inspiration, story, and intention. I bring artistic interpretation, technical skill, and creative direction. For that reason, commissions work best when there is trust in the process and openness to discovery.

In the unlikely event that the completed painting doesn't feel like the right fit, there is no obligation to purchase the final work. Your deposit will be converted to studio credit, and the painting will become available for future exhibitions or collectors.

(Though happily, this has never happened.)

Timing

Most commissions require between one and three months from consultation to completion, depending on size, complexity, and studio schedule. If you have a specific deadline for a gift, exhibition, or special occasion, please mention it in your inquiry.

Framing

Professional framing is available for an additional charge. If you'd like your artwork ready to hang upon arrival, please mention framing in your inquiry. Depending on size and complexity, framing may add up to two weeks to the overall timeline.
