Beauty creates care.
Before we care for a place, we learn to see it. We learn the names of its plants, notice its birds and insects, watch the changing seasons, and become curious about the small lives all around us. The more closely we look, the more there is to love.
My paintings begin there.
I work from my studio in our 1950s New Mexico home, surrounded by books, flowers from the garden, curious cats, and the everyday rhythms of home and season. I work in oil, watercolor, ink, gouache, and encaustic, painting botanicals, birds, animals, and other elements of a living world that catch my attention and refuse to let it go.
I'm drawn to the familiar, a wildflower, a bird at the feeder, a beloved pet, my garden in the morning, but I am always looking for what lies just beneath the familiar. The quiet mystery, the unexpected beauty. The feeling of belonging to a place.
My work is an attempt to make those moments tangible.
I'm deeply inspired by native plants, cottage gardens, rewilding, and the possibility of a future where people and nature flourish together.
I want my paintings to be beautiful, uplifting, and hopeful. I want them to make you pause for a moment. To look a little more closely. To remember a place, a creature, a season, or a feeling. And perhaps, in that moment of attention, to feel a little more connected to the living world.

And every act of attention is a small beginning.
Artist statement.
My art explores restoration as a creative act. The transformation of what is overlooked, barren, or broken into something alive with possibility.
Inspired by my relationship with nature and my experience creating a thriving garden from a lifeless yard, I see creativity as a way to cultivate beauty, abundance, and connection. My work grows from the belief that beauty can do more than please us; it can help us imagine a different world.
Through my art, I want to inspire a more hopeful, hands-on relationship with the living world and contribute to a Solarpunk future built through grassroots creativity, ecological restoration, and collective action.
For me, art is not just about imagining what could be. It is about helping make that possibility real.
