April Collection 2025
This collection of paintings brings together two series — The Birds and Olive and Rose — each exploring the quiet stories found in the natural world. The Birds, a pair of oil paintings on paper, reflects on the cycles of life with rich textures and earthy tones. Meeting at the End of the World gathers an assortment of songbirds at dawn, while What Remains depicts goldfinches perched among moss and ferns, a meditation on life's fragile beauty. Olive and Rose, a series of mixed media paintings, invites viewers into a softer, more whimsical realm where woodland creatures linger among tea cups, books, and blooming pink flowers. Together, these collections weave a world of stillness and storytelling — where nature’s quiet rituals and small moments of wonder intertwine. I believe collectors will be drawn to the delicate balance of fragility, imagination, and the beauty of slow living within these pieces, making them a harmonious addition to any home.
Summer Nights
Original oil painting, 16” x 20” on canvas
By Renee Machan
2026 Spring Collection
Unframed
Summer Nights is a richly atmospheric botanical still life that captures the lush, fragrant intensity of a garden after dusk. Set against a deep indigo sky scattered with stars, this 16” x 20” original oil painting glows with saturated color and quiet movement, evoking the warmth and mystery of long summer evenings.
A bouquet of romantic blooms includes velvety roses in blush and cream, a dramatic plum anemone, delicate lavender blossoms, and pale ranunculus spilling across the composition in layered abundance. Their petals are rendered with expressive brushwork and luminous glazing, giving them a softness that feels almost touchable. Beneath them, golden lemons rest in a pool of shadowed light, their textured skins catching highlights like small suns against the night.
A blue butterfly hovers gently over a sliced lemon, its wings edged with intricate markings that echo the star-speckled sky behind. The pairing of fruit and butterfly suggests fleeting sweetness and transformation, sensations heightened in the suspended stillness of evening. Wisps of atmospheric light drift through the background, blurring the boundary between earthly table and celestial expanse.
Painted in oil, the surface reveals depth through layered color, subtle tonal transitions, and areas of soft diffusion contrasted with crisp detail. The scale invites close viewing, drawing the eye into the glow of petals, the texture of citrus rind, and the shimmer of distant stars.
Released as part of the 2026 Spring Collection, Summer Nights reflects themes of ripening, sensuality, and quiet transformation. It celebrates the fleeting magic of the season when air is heavy with scent, the sky hums with possibility, and even the smallest moment feels luminous.
