Goodbye My Heart

Goodbye My Heart is a series of four mixed media paintings created with watercolor, acrylic, and ink. Inspired by the beloved backyard birds who have kept me company as I built my garden and my home in Southern California over the past decade, this collection is both a love letter and a farewell. Each bird is paired with a favorite bloom from my garden — a hummingbird with pineapple sage, a titmouse with a ripening pomegranate, a chickadee among starry borage flowers, and the devoted pair of doves who return each year to nest beneath the grapevines on my pergola. Rich blues, vibrant greens, and colorful florals capture the vivid life of my garden and the memories rooted there. As I prepare to leave California after 23 years, these pieces hold a deep personal resonance. I believe collectors will be drawn to the emotion, color, and sense of place in this series — a heartfelt tribute to the quiet beauty of home and the creatures who make it feel alive.
